UAE, IATA sign agreement on air transport cooperation

WAM Abu Dhabi, 13th March 2013 (WAM)–The UAE and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) today signed a bilateral agreement in the presence of H. H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, at the ministry.

Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed on behalf of the UAE, while Anthony Taylor, director general and chief executive of IATA, signed on behalf of IATA.

The agreement provides for the setting up of an IATA office in Abu Dhabi to further promote cooperation in the area of air transport. It offers IATA with facilities to enable it to carry out its work.

The president and chief executive officer of Etihad, James Hogan, attended the signing ceremony.
