UK parliament rejects PM early election plans on second vote

LONDON, British lawmakers rejected on Monday a proposal by Prime Minister Boris Johnson for early general elections in a second vote.

The government’s motion failed to secure the required two-thirds of the House of Commons, as only 293 MPs voted in favour with 46 voting against.

Britain is facing an ongoing political crisis over the dispute between government and parliament over the issue of its European Union withdrawal, with the prime minister refusing to postpone the exit until after October 31, even that means going out without a deal.
