US, N. Korea discuss boosting Singapore summit’s commitments

WASHINGTON, Senior US and North Korea officials met to discuss progress in their commitments made at the Singapore summit.

The meeting held late Friday by US State Secretary Michael Pompeo and Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun with North Korea’s Vice President Kim Yong Chol in Washington, discussed efforts to make progress in the commitments made by US President Trump and North Korea’s President Kim Jong-un, said State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino in a press statement.

At the end of their talks, the two sides held a productive first meeting at the working level, the statement said.

Meanwhile, President Trump will meet with his North Korean counterpart late February, the White House Spokesperson Sarah Sanders told reporters.
