US President, Kuwait Amir discuss “enduring friendship”

Washington, US President Donald Trump and the Amir of Kuwait have “discussed the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the United States and Kuwait.”

White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere said in a statement that President Trump spoke, Thursday, with His Highness the Amir Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.

The President was pleased to hear that the Amir is feeling better and wished him good health,” the deputy press secretary said in the statement, reported by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Shaikh Sabah and President Trump reviewed the distinguished ties between the two countries in light of their close strategic partnership.

Trump welcomed meeting with His Highness the Amir, who is now staying in the US for medical tests, “at an appropriate time.”

Trump wished Shaikh Sabah lasting well-being and good health and Kuwait further progress and prosperity.

Shaikh Sabah expressed his great appreciation to President Trump for seeking reassurance about his health and lauded the sentiments that embody the depth of historic relations between the two countries and the Kuwaiti and American peoples.

He also renewed the call for President Trump to pay an official visit to Kuwait, wishing him good health and well-being, and the US and its nation further development and success.
