WASHINGTON, US Vice President Mike Pence had lunch Monday with Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa during which they condemned the recent attack on “vital oil and gas infrastructure in Saudi Arabia,” and discussed Iran’s “dangerous and destabilizing activities in the Middle East.” The Office of the Vice President said in a statement that Pence “lauded Bahrain’s contributions towards promoting peace in the region, maritime security, and countering terrorism.” Pence and the Bahraini Crown Prince also participated “in a signing ceremony for Bahrain’s recent purchase of Patriot surface-to-air missile system equipment.”
