ADEN, A committee tasked with coordinating redeployment in Hodeida said Monday it was setting up a joint operations center as well as deploying observers with the objective of preventing escalation and enforce the ceasefire in Hodeida.
The committee, in a statement following a two-day meeting on board a UN ship off Hodeida bringing together represetntatives from the Yemeni government and Houthis, said it enacted the de-escalation mechanism and agreed to enforce ceasefire.
The committee added it was setting up a joint operations center at the UN mission in Hodeida to coordinate efforts among field liaison officers to prevent escalation.
The last committee meeting approved a ceasefire mechanism and redeployment of forces in Hodeida and its ports, all are bids to implement the last December 13 agreement that was signed in Swedish capital, Stockholm.
